How it Works
Come into the hospital through the main entrance (Veterans Affairs side). Check in with the contraceptive clinic located on the 2nd/3rd Deck, Medical Homeport. A member of our team will call you back, provide a screening, and send you to the lab. Female patients will be required to take a urine pregnancy test before seeing the health care provider. For patients requesting an IUD insertion, the health care providers recommend taking an over the counter NSAID, such as Ibuprofen, for pain relief before coming to the clinic. The clinic is on a first come, first served basis. Wait times will vary. If you have any questions, please call 843-228-5200 and request to be transferred to 2219/2201 and speak to a member of our team.
